Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Due to high demand, only the first 25 applicants will be considered.
Troubleshoot and maintain all injection molding machines with the goal of keeping the production floor running 24/7.
Responsibilities- Maintain all facets of Injection Molding machines, associated processes, and PET Fiber Extrusion Lines.
- Comprehend and troubleshoot fluid power systems, including hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and valves. Technicians must be able to read schematics, diagnose leaks, and perform preventive maintenance on these critical systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot electrical controls. This includes working with single-phase and three-phase power, motor controls, servo systems, and safety circuits.
- Service and repair support equipment that is vital to the injection molding process, such as thermolators (temperature control units), chillers, resin dryers, material loaders, and cooling towers.
- Perform regular equipment inspections, proactively identifying potential issues before they result in downtime and/or failure. Reduce downtime of machines by incorporating proactive approaches.
- Complete work orders related to machine repairs and preventive maintenance and perform preventive maintenance on machines as scheduled. Troubleshoot complex equipment and processes and perform machinery/equipment repairs.
- Design, engineer, repair and/or fabricate basic machinery parts as required.
- Assist with molding machine changeovers to other products.
- Ability to work posted shift (3rd shift, 10 pm – 6 am).
- Experience in injection molding machine repair required.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required;
Associate’s degree preferred. - Experienced in electrical, process, pneumatic, and automation, with a base PLC knowledge/troubleshooting. Mechanical aptitude with ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and pneumatic drawings.
- Knowledge of auxiliary equipment – hydraulics, mold temperature controllers, hot runner controllers, sprue pickers, robots. Mold setup experience.
- Ability to utilize strong analytical skills to quickly diagnose the root cause of complex mechanical and electrical failures. This is essential for minimizing machine downtime and recurring issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and written with production staff, engineers, and management to coordinate maintenance activities and report on equipment status.
- Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights.
