School Registered Nurse

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate School Nurse to provide 1:1 nursing care for a medically fragile, wheelchair-bound student in a school setting in Aurora, CO. When the student is not present, the School Nurse will assist with daily health office responsibilities, including screenings and general nursing support. Previous Colorado school-based nursing experience is preferred
.

• Primary responsibility: 1:1 support for a medically fragile student
• Student is wheelchair bound
• Medical needs include G-tube feeding and ventilator (vent) care
• Nurse will be required to ride to and from school with the student
• Age group:
  School-aged student (exact grade to be confirmed)

• Provide direct 1:1 nursing care to a medically fragile student throughout the school day
• Monitor and manage G-tube feedings
  , ventilator support, and related medical needs
• Ensure student safety during transportation to and from school
• Collaborate with school staff, special education teams, and families
• Assist with health office duties
  , including:
  • Hearing screenings
  • Vision screenings
  • Daily student health assessments
  • Health documentation and record keeping
  • Respond to medical emergencies per district and state protocols
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation and logs
  • Follow all district, state, and confidentiality regulations
  • Participate in IEP meetings as related to health needs
  • Support health education and promote student well-being

• Active Colorado RN or LPN license (school nurse eligible)
• Experience working with medically fragile students preferred
• Comfort managing G-tube and ventilator care
• Previous Colorado school nursing experience preferred
• Ability to ride school transportation with the student
• Strong communication, organization, and clinical judgment skills

• Ability to assist with positioning, mobility, and transfers
• Comfort working with medical equipment and emergency procedures
