Doggie Daycare Caregiver

Overview

Indian Prairie Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Doggie Daycare Caregiver. The ideal person for this position understands the safety and priority of the animals in their care. They should be an independent and reliable self-starter with lots of energy and a passion for dogs.

We are seeking an individual who can conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks. Can provide compassionate care to patients. Ability to monitor multiple dogs playing in a group fident in giving day boarder evaluations to ensure a new dog is able to play well with others. Ensures all kennel/daycare staff team can receive animals to be admitted, properly identified, and recording items into their charts as necessary.

Ensures all overnight and day boarders boarding charges and services requested are completed and charges are entered, including keeping track of the day boarder tally of days until their free play day. Has the ability to communicate with owners and make them feel comfortable with leaving their pet(s) in our care. Double checking that vaccinations are current for upcoming boarder reservations. Keeping up with entering reservations for regular day boarders.

Can follow a regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing all cages, runs, wards and related areas; changes litter boxes and food/water bowls. Weekly updates provided to the practice manager and head technician. Understands and carries out oral and written directions. Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees while maintaining confidentiality.

• Prior experience working with dogs
• Compassion, patience, and reliability
• The ability to walk, run, pull, push, bend or reach
• The ability to lift up to 30-40 pounds
• Capable of handling all sizes of canines from small to large
