Position Summary

The primary role of the Installer is to perform duties necessary for the assembly and fabrication of final products, involving physical labor at an assembly plant, and operating a variety of hand and power tools. The Installer is responsible for the efficient construction and production of final products according to established work procedures, following all safety protocols and workplace policies.

Role Responsibilities

  • Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and sketches to meet project specifications.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble framing lumber needed for building structures.
  • Assemble and install structural components and materials.
  • Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
  • Measure, cut, or shape metal, wood, and other materials.
  • Construct building frameworks including walls, floors, roofs, and door frames.
  • Erect, level, and install building frameworks with rigging and cranes.
  • Instruct and direct laborers and construction helpers.
  • Work with steel framing for interior and exterior structures.
  • Work with concrete forming systems and finish walls, partitions, and ceilings.
  • Accurately measure and calculate material needs.
  • Use tools to cut and shape construction materials according to plans.
  • Build modular structures using raw materials or pre-fab components.
  • Lay out walls, flooring, roofing, ensuring proper levelness and plumbness.
  • Operate trade-specific machinery.
  • Position and install parts using hand and power tools.
  • Report defects and maintain work area cleanliness.
  • Read, understand, and perform work instructions.
  • Interpret job orders and drawings as needed.
  • Inspect and document product compliance.
  • Handle materials safely.
  • Maintain accurate time records and metrics.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary diploma is a plus.
    • Hands-on experience with carpentry materials.
    • Previous experience as a carpenter, fabricator, or installer preferred.
    • Ability to operate required equipment safely.
    • Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
    • Strong time management skills.
    • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
    • Attention to detail for defect identification.
    • Commitment to quality and safety.
    • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in assembly.
    • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
    • Ability to work independently and follow work schedules.
    • Physical ability to work in shop environment, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
    • Knowledge of safety procedures and first aid.

    Physical Requirements and Accountability

    • Work in dusty, noisy, high, tight, and confined spaces.
    • Climb, balance, squat, kneel, and crouch.
    • Stand for long periods.
    • Lifting requirements: 51-75 lbs occasionally, 31-45 lbs frequently.
    • Use of PPE required.
    • Work near moving mechanical parts, heat, and cold.
    • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
