Material Handler; Heavy Lift Heavy Handling

Job Summary

Fed Ex is seeking reliable and physically capable Material Handlers (Heavy Lift) to support our heavy package handling operations. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely movement of large, bulky, and overweight shipments within our facilities. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and able to perform demanding physical work in a fast‑paced logistics environment while upholding Fed Exs high standards of service excellence.

• Safely load, unload, move, stack, and stage heavy and oversized packages using proper lifting techniques.

• Handle packages that may exceed standard weight limits, individually or with team assistance.

• Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, conveyors, and forklifts (where certified).

• Inspect packages for damage and ensure accurate labeling, scanning, and documentation.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and Fed Ex safety policies.

• Follow all operational procedures, schedules, and productivity standards.

• Report safety hazards, damaged freight, or operational issues to supervisors promptly.

• Support other warehouse and hub operations as needed to meet business demands.

• Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, and pull heavy packages (often 75 lbs. or more, with assistance as required).

• Strong attention to safety, detail, and accuracy.

• Basic reading, writing, and communication skills in English.

• Ability to follow instructions, policies, and standard operating procedures.

• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

• Willingness to work in varying conditions, including noise, temperature changes, and fast‑paced environments.

• Previous warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or material handling experience preferred but not required.

• Experience with heavy package handling or physically demanding roles is an advantage.

• Forklift or material handling equipment experience is a plus (training and certification may be provided).

• Flexible schedules including day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.

• Full-time, part-time, and shift-based opportunities may be available depending on location and operational needs.

• Overtime may be required during peak business periods.

• Knowledge of safe lifting practices and warehouse safety standards.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
