Store Manager Trainee

We are looking for a passionate leader to join Dollar Tree as a Store Manager in Training. You will learn how to manage a profitable store through hands‑on training while inspiring a high‑performance culture of customer service and teamwork.

As a Store Manager in Training, you’ll engage in on‑the‑job training to learn how to manage the profitable operations of your assigned store. Your responsibilities include maintaining a high standard for merchandising, placement and store signage, and using proper display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers.

Your day‑to‑day job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Recruit and hire store associates to serve our customers
• Foster the growth and development of associates through training on operations and merchandising while coaching and correcting when appropriate
• Oversee and delegate all store activities to ensure smooth daily operations
• Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while enforcing company policies and procedures
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Implement operational and merchandising direction that is communicated from our corporate headquarters
• Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution
• Protect company assets
• Maintain a high level of customer service across the store
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders

• Minimum 3 years of prior retail management experience (preferred)
• Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience a plus
• Strong productivity management in freight processing required
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting (reasonable accommodation available)
