The Starting Hourly Rate / Salario por Hora Inicial is $15.50 USD per hour. The Pay Range / Rango salarial is $15.50 USD - $23.25 USD per hour.

ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE – Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise setup and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.

Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store
• Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

Responsibilities (typical day)

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks
• Engage with guests to help solve their needs and provide assistance
• Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop Target
• Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader to help achieve goals aligned with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas
• If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures
• Execute processes such as price changes, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability
• Be knowledgeable about total store resources, products, and services to resolve issues and improve guest experience
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; work safely and report hazards
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking and packing orders or delivering pickup orders) while complying with applicable laws
• All other duties based on business needs

Physical and work requirements

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
• Climb ladders when required
• Move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds without assistance
• Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and reliable attendance
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments while performing duties
• Ability to stay mobile for the duration of a shift
