  • Review images for technical and clinical adequacy prior to releasing patients; repeat images when necessary.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with contrast administration, including operation of power injectors, IV access/venipuncture, and post-contrast patient monitoring.
Own the Procedure Workflow

Documentation, Education & Communication

  • Address questions, concerns, and contraindications, and involve the radiologist or ordering provider when additional clarification is needed.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation in the electronic systems (RIS, PACS, EMR) using concise and appropriate terminology.
  • Read and act on departmental communications (including email) and complete mandatory hospital and departmental education within deadlines.
  • Participate in orientation, mentoring, and on-the-job training for new team members and students.
Quality, Safety & Regulatory Readiness
  • Consistently produce diagnostic-quality images.
  • Send studies to PACS; ensure exams are correctly completed in RIS and reconciled with PACS.
  • Support teleradiology workflows.
  • Maintain Joint Commission and other regulatory standards through safe practice, accurate documentation, and readiness for survey at all times.
Operational Excellence & Teamwork
  • Restock linens, supplies, and contrast; maintain a clean, organized, and safe department environment.
  • Safely transport and assist patients on and off the procedure table, using appropriate ergonomics and support devices.
  • Perform patient charging activities accurately on the day services are rendered.
  • Apply shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices to enhance safety and image quality.
