Phlebotomist II – Austell, GA
Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with rotational weekends.
Estimated pay: $21.17+ per hour. Salary offers are based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and other market and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.
Job DescriptionCollect specimens according to established procedures—including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams—administer oral solutions, and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems and approved tools. Navigate computer systems, enter data accurately, obtain identification and billing information, and process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and transport preparation). Perform all non‑patient‑facing duties such as inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email.
Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures. Assist with data submission, maintain phlebotomy logs, and complete all required online and in‑person training courses on time.

- Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
- Administer oral solutions according to established training.
- Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders by utilizing lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
- Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
- Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
- Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by the test order.
- Perform all non‑patient‑facing duties—inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email as appropriate.
- Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Assist with the compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
- Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, including maintenance logs and temperature logs.
- Complete online and in‑person training courses in a timely manner.
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call and overtime.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Effective communication in English.
