Part-Time Respiratory Therapist II

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments in critical care settings. They manage ventilators, perform invasive and non-invasive procedures, and interpret respiratory data, ensuring high-quality, safe patient care. They educate patients, families, and staff, while collaborating with healthcare teams to develop and implement treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering patient-centered respiratory treatments, including medication, oxygen, and airway management
• Managing ventilators, conducting Weaning protocols, and performing arterial blood gas analysis
• Providing education to patients, families, and new staff, and mentoring peers and students
• Ensuring safety through accurate documentation, adherence to protocols, and participation in performance improvement
• Assisting with invasive and diagnostic procedures as needed
• Promoting evidence-based practice and a supportive, team-oriented environment

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT or RCP
• 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with computer systems and healthcare databases
