The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments in complex clinical situations, primarily in critical care settings. They independently manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and analyze arterial blood gases, ensuring high-quality and safe patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered respiratory treatments and education, collaborating with healthcare teams.
- Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures, including ventilator management, intubation, and pulmonary diagnostics.
- Mentor and precept new staff, students, and peers, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, accurate documentation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote evidence-based practices and maintain compliance with organizational policies.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
- Required certifications: NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, and ACLS.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills; proficiency with computer systems and databases.
