Respiratory Therapist II

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, and patient assessment in critical care settings. They deliver patient-centered care tailored to diverse needs, educate patients and support staff, and participate in staff development and quality improvement initiatives.

• Perform patient assessments, verify orders, and administer therapies such as aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy.
• Manage ventilators, including weaning and waveform interpretation, and handle airway procedures like intubation and tracheostomy care.
• Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
• Educate patients and mentor new employees, students, and peers.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams and promote a safe, quality environment through adherence to policies and evidence-based practices.
• Support performance improvement and maintain accurate documentation.

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
• Certifications:
  
  NBRC-RRT, Respiratory Care Professional, BLS, and ACLS.
• 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with computers and healthcare databases.
