Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Manage shipping and receiving activity for new business including sales orders, shippers, BOL, misc. shippers, and receiving inspection.
- Develop and process shipping containers. This includes but not limited to building crates and/or skids out of wood, redi crates, an/or palletize jobs to be shipped. Record weight and dimensions.
- Conduct inspections to ensure crates meet safety and performance standards and are suitable for shipping and contain the correct documentation when required.
- Interpret blueprints and customer requirements to design custom crates for specific items.
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials to build crates, pallets, and skids using tools like nail guns, saws, and drills.
- Manage and schedule common carriers for freight out.
- Process jobs for UPS/Fed Ex.
- Pre‑assemble seals, components, and parts orders as applicable.
- Notify purchasing of any items that are below safety stock or not in inventory.
- Assist other areas with miscellaneous jobs.
- Maintain inventory of all shipping supplies, lumber, boxes and packing.
- Ensure safety and quality at all times and report issues to the Production Manager.
- Ability to load and unload trucks with a forklift, crane, or pallet jack.
- Other duties as assigned.

Language AbilityAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Math AbilityAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer SkillsKnowledge of Internet Explorer, Made to Manage system, Microsoft Outlook, UPS system, and Fed Ex system.
Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equipment- Experience operating hand and power tools, including nail guns, staple guns, and various saws.
