We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Float RN – Outpatient Oncology Infusion to support multiple outpatient infusion locations within a defined local radius. This role is ideal for an oncology-experienced RN who enjoys variety, autonomy, and advanced clinical practice while delivering high-quality, patient-centered infusion care.

You will regularly administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and other hazardous medications, while serving as a clinical resource for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

🩺 Role Overview

The Oncology Infusion RN functions under the direction of infusion leadership and demonstrates advanced competency in oncology infusion therapy, including the safe handling and administration of hazardous drugs.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, chemotherapy competency, and the ability to support patients through complex oncologic treatments while addressing physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

Oncology Infusion & Clinical Care

  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antineoplastic agents, targeted therapies, and other hazardous drugs
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor treatment responses
  • Deliver safe, individualized infusion care using evidence-based practice
  • Maintain annual chemotherapy competency

Patient-Centered Care & Education

  • Address biological, emotional, developmental, and psychosocial needs
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and side effects
  • Promote continuity of care and patient safety

Float & Collaboration

  • Float between outpatient infusion sites based on operational needs
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacy, nursing leadership, and care teams
  • Serve as a clinical resource for peers

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow oncology safety standards and USP hazardous drug handling guidelines
  • Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Professional Development

  • Participate in staff meetings, education, and clinical initiatives
  • Serve as a preceptor or mentor as needed
  • Maintain oncology knowledge through continuing education
🎓 Education
  • Required: Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
📜 Licensure & Certifications

(All required upon hire unless otherwise stated)

  • Active RN License (Single-State or Compact)
  • BLS – Basic Life Support
  • Chemotherapy Competency through an approved provider (preferred)
🧠 Experience Requirements
  • 2+ years of direct patient care experience (required)
  • 2+ years of outpatient oncology nursing experience (preferred)
  • Prior chemotherapy infusion experience strongly preferred
