The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious and appetizing meals for residents while following established recipes, food safety standards, and portion control procedures. This role requires the ability to work in a high‑pressure environment, both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Functions- Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
- Serve food following established portion control procedures.
- Ensure food is cooked at proper temperatures and complete required checklists and logs.
- Assist with inventory management and receiving deliveries.
- Work with the Executive Chef/Chef Manager to coordinate menus and special requests.
- Adapt schedule when necessary to accommodate urgent situations.
- Follow all safe food handling procedures
, including proper glove use. - Perform daily and scheduled cleaning tasks according to company policies.
- Adhere to therapeutic and mechanically altered diet guidelines as required.

PayThis position pays $17‑$19/hour depending on experience.
Qualifications- 1 year of cooking experience
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Passion for working with geriatric residents and understanding their special needs
- Ability to follow directions, multi‑task, and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Serv Safe certification is desirable
- High school diploma or GED
- Positive attitude
- Willingness to learn
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong team player
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
