What you'll do...

As an experienced Bookkeeper at H&R Block, you’ll deliver exceptional bookkeeping, payroll, and customer service. You’ll play a key role in fulfilling our brand purpose to help and inspire communities everywhere.

Responsibilities include:

• Posting financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers
• Reconciling and balancing accounts
• Generating and analyzing financial statements
• Preparing and processing payroll
• Generating 1099s and W2s, and calculating and preparing tax statements
• Communicating with clients, vendors, and banking contacts
• Assisting in client retention and growth opportunities

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications or the ability to obtain them
• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles
• Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies, and regulations
• Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
• Analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently

Preferred:

• Experience with Xero accounting software
• This office operates as an independently owned franchise under an agreement with H&R Block. Questions about employment should be directed to the franchise owner.

Pay Range:

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour. Actual pay depends on experience, education, and location. Benefits include health coverage, retirement plan, employee assistance, and discounts.
