Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer with at least one year of cardiac sonography experience and RDCS or RCS certification for a travel assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in both outpatient and inpatient echocardiography settings at multiple locations
- Perform comprehensive echo cardiographic studies including stress echo and transesophageal echo
- Adult and pediatric patient populations, including neonate through geriatric
- Four 8-hour day shifts per week, scheduled between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM
- Minimum 32 hours per week, with possibility to work up to 40 hours per week
- No weekends and no call required
- EPIC EMR is used and experience is required
- Position involves performing and documenting complete echo cardiographic exams integrating all necessary modalities and data
- Collaborates with lead sonographers, physicians, and team for echo cardiographic interpretation
- Participates in orientation and training of trainees, students, and visitors within Cardiac Services
- Strict adherence to sterile procedures, radiation, and infection precautions required
- Must exercise proper handling of sharp instruments and hazardous materials
- Expected to demonstrate flexibility learning equipment and specialty imaging procedures
- Good verbal and written communication skills, hearing acuity, and visual attention required
- Minimum of one year experience in adult and pediatric cardiac sonography, including stress and transesophageal echo
- ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS certification required
- BLS certification required through AHA or American Red Cross
- Associate’s degree or graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited sonography program required
- Must be able to work independently and demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Active license required if applicable
- COVID vaccination and booster required prior to start
- No pending license allowed for consideration
- Must tolerate frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and be able to reach above shoulder level
