Position Profile
State and Local Tax (SALT) Manager – Sales and Use Tax (Indirect)Weaver seeks a SALT Manager to join the Sales and Use (Indirect) Tax division of our SALT practice. The Manager will work on multiple complex tax engagements and contribute to innovative sales and use tax planning for diverse clients. This role offers a warm, successful, team-driven culture with opportunities for career development and advancement.
The role requires in-depth experience across a wide range of industries, providing consulting services to corporate clients. Responsibilities include handling complex indirect tax audits, managed audits, and recovery of tax over payments (reverse audits). It also includes leading complex tax research projects and supervising a team of sales and use tax professionals.
To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA, CMI or JD
- 5+ years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting or tax services firm or similar
- Experience with indirect (sales & use) tax compliance and consulting
Additional qualifications are preferred:
- Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop staff
- Strong relationship management and practice development skills
- Ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients
Compensation and Benefits At Weaver, our most valuable resource is our people. The compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $175,000 in the California and New York Metropolitan areas. Actual compensation will be based on experience, skills, certifications, and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan. We offer flexible scheduled time off (STO), a minimum of 56 hours of sick and safe leave, 11 holidays, and 2 recharge days.
