This position focuses on full‑cycle accounts payable duties with a strong emphasis on construction job cost accounting. The ideal candidate will handle invoice processing, vendor relationships, compliance documentation, and financial reconciliation with accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Perform construction job cost accounting, including accurate tracking and allocation of project expenses.
- Process overhead and subcontractor payables from entry through payment.
- Request, collect, and maintain subcontractor compliance documentation.
- Enter, code, and reconcile credit card transactions.
- Prepare and verify monthly bank reconciliations.
- Record and apply incoming client payments.
- Create, process, and track lien releases, claims, and notices.
- Apply knowledge of lien waivers, pay laws, and construction payment compliance requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff.
- Review daily invoices for approval, accuracy, and correct general ledger/cost coding.
- Research and resolve vendor discrepancies, past due balances, and aging invoices.
- Respond to inquiries from employees and vendors regarding payables and related issues.
- Perform general administrative work such as filing, scanning, phone support, and assisting other departments when needed.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in the construction industry.
- Minimum 3+ years of accounts payable experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and problem‑solving ability.
- Skilled in analyzing data and resolving issues with critical thinking.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
- Experience with accounting software preferred.
- Must meet background and screening requirements.
