Salary: $6,000.00 – $6,300.00 per month (Texas-B-22)
Shift: Day (up to 5% travel)

Responsibilities
  • Conduct senior-level accounting work in CAPPS Financial, establishing and maintaining procedures and ensuring data integrity.
  • Calculate complex Cost Allocation Factors and maintain Chart Field updates, Trees, Speed Charts, and Combo Edits.
  • Perform journal entries, internal controls, and act as liaison with HHSC Technical Staff on CAPPS upgrades, issues, and testing.
  • Prepare and submit AFR and Commitment Accounting reports, ensuring compliance with Federal and State requirements.
  • Reconcile CAPPS to USAS, complete reallocation processes, and support audit requests with GL Manager.
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures, participating in special projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred but can be substituted with experience).
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial operations.
  • Experience working with client database systems and strong general ledger, Excel, and reconciliation skills.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), state and federal reporting regulations, and must be proficient in advanced Excel functions (Pivot, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and work independently with limited direction.
  • Familiarity with CAPPS, USAS, and CAPPS HCM automated accounting systems.

    Other required knowledge includes fiscal programs and governmental accounting laws and regulations.
