Senior Accountant

Our client, a well-established company in the insurance industry, is looking to hire a Senior Accountant on a Temp-to-Hire basis! This is a hybrid role, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in accordance with GAAP and statutory accounting requirements
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Assist in preparing and reviewing statutory filings and compliance reports for the insurance industry
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Support audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and answering auditor inquiries
• Work with ERP systems (Workday preferred, but any ERP experience welcome)
• Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Insurance industry experience is a must (even if light)
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus)
• 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience at the Senior Accountant level
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles
• Proficiency in Workday or other ERP/accounting software
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills
