We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Staff Accountant to join our clients' growing Financial Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career accounting professionals looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting. Candidates with internship experience are encouraged to apply.
The Staff Accountant will assist with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities while working closely with senior accounting and finance leadership.
Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Perform account and bank reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Analyze financial data and provide support for reporting initiatives
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting and finance projects
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 0-3 years of accounting experience, including internships
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Internship experience in accounting, finance, banking, or financial services
- Experience with ERP or accounting software systems
- Interest in pursuing CPA, CMA, or other professional certifications
