Controller, Accounting, Financial Controller

Tarvos Talent is helping a leading Austin-based commercial real estate private equity firm find a Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations across a complex, multi-entity real estate portfolio. This is a hands‑on Controller role offering significant exposure to real estate, private equity, capital structures, and investment reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting, month-end close, GL, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Manage accounting across multiple properties and entities.
• Partner with third‑party property management companies.
• Support capital stack, waterfall, equity, and investor reporting.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and procedures.
• Partner closely with the CFO on financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Big 4/public accounting experience strongly preferred

• Private equity, fund accounting, or investment management experience highly preferred.
• Real estate accounting experience is a plus.
• Experience with multi‑entity accounting and complex organizational structures.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong technical and operational accounting skills.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Quick Books, , or Juniper Square is a plus.
• Comfortable working independently in a less structured, entrepreneurial environment.
