- Review Quick Books activity, correct accounting and coding issues, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, and ensure accurate period cutoff.
- Prepare and maintain complex operating accruals, including distributor chargebacks, freight, events, broker fees, warehouse expenses, and other unbilled costs.
- Maintain ASC 842 lease accounting schedules and related journal entries and reconciliations.
- Review inventory, revenue, and COGS activity and partner with Operations to resolve discrepancies, missing costs, and cutoff issues.
- Oversee AP and AR, including vendor setup, invoice processing, payments, customer collections, reconciliations, and employee expenses.
- Manage quarterly estimated-tax distributions for Milestone Brands members and support franchise tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings.

- Maintain financial reporting models, analyze actuals against budget, and provide accounting information to leadership.
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions with the Canadian subsidiary.
- Maintain and improve accounting processes in Quick Books, Stampli, and Excel.
- Coach and develop the accounting team member while maintaining appropriate accounting and payment controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong experience with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, financial statements, and full monthly/year-end close.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to independently identify and resolve accounting issues.
- Experience with AP/AR, inventory accounting, vendor management, and payment controls.
- Proficiency with Quick Books or similar accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Comfortable working in a small accounting team and personally handling detailed accounting work.
CPA or CMA preferred, along with experience in spirits, CPG, manufacturing, distribution, or co-packing environments. Experience with inventory accounting, distributor chargebacks, intercompany transactions, ASC 842, Stampli, and privately held companies is a plus.
