Our client is a global developer, owner and operator of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. It’s part of a US-listed parent company with operations across North America, EMEA and beyond. The Austin-based Global Finance team is growing quickly and needs a hands-on accounting manager for complex US GAAP and global reporting work in a fast-growing, project-heavy business.
About the Role
The Accounting Manager will join the Global Finance team and own key parts of the company’s US GAAP accounting and group financial reporting. This role is for someone who likes to work through a complex accounting question and get it to a defensible answer. That could mean researching the guidance, drafting the memo, or making sure the consolidated financials tie out and are audit-ready.
You’ll work closely with Tax, FP&A, Project Finance, Legal, regional controllers and the external auditors. It’s a role with real visibility and real impact on the numbers.
What You’ll Do
- Lead or support the monthly group consolidation and analytical review across the North America and EMEA regions
- Prepare group financial statements, footnotes, audit schedules and consolidation proofs
- Review subsidiary and project-level (SPV) financials with regional controllers for accuracy and US GAAP compliance
- Research complex and unusual renewable energy transactions and determine the right US GAAP treatment
- Write clear technical accounting memos with conclusions that will hold up in an audit
- Draft and maintain accounting policies, processes and internal controls as the business and the standards change
- Support SEC reporting and compliance for the US-listed parent
- Maintain and improve the HFM (Hyperion) reporting system
- Advise Project Finance, Legal and Tax on the accounting impact of new deals before they close
- Work with external auditors and support due diligence requests
- Build training materials and help develop junior team members
What We’re Looking For
- Active CPA (US or Canada; ACCA considered)
- Audit and assurance experience at a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC) or a national CPA firm (BDO, Grant Thornton, RSM, Baker Tilly)
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, with experience in consolidation, financial reporting and/or technical accounting research
- Roughly 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, either as a Senior/Manager in public accounting or as a Senior Analyst through Manager in a corporate accounting team
- Experience with HFM and/or SAP preferred
- Experience in energy, infrastructure, construction or a public company is a plus
- Comfortable in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving setting, with strong communication and project management skills
