About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Personal Assistant / Household Manager to support a busy principal in Austin, TX. This part‑time role is ideal for someone who excels at creating order, managing a home smoothly, and handling a wide range of personal and household needs with professionalism, discretion, and initiative.
The role will begin with a heavier focus on household setup, as the principal has recently moved into a new home. After the initial setup phase, the position will transition into a consistent weekly schedule of household operations, errands, meal prep, vendor coordination, and ongoing support.
This is a long‑term position for a polished, resourceful individual who takes pride in keeping a home running efficiently and anticipates needs before they arise.
Key Responsibilities Initial Move‑In & Household Setup- Organize and set up the home, including closets, pantry, kitchen, garage, storage areas, and living spaces
- Source and purchase household items as needed
- Assist with procuring and coordinating artwork and décor as needed
- Build organizational systems that are intuitive and easy to maintain
- Oversee deliveries, returns, and home setup logistics
- Maintain household organization systems and ensure all spaces stay tidy and functional
- Manage inventory and household supplies; restock as needed
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers (e.g., cleaners, maintenance, installers)
- Handle scheduling and communication for household services or repairs
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to keep the home consistently neat
- Grocery shopping, ordering household goods, and managing weekly errands
- Prepare simple, healthy meal prep (following preferences)
- Handle returns, pickups, and various local tasks
- Assist with scheduling, reminders, and small personal admin tasks
- Support with a wide variety of ad hoc requests — anything needed to support the smooth running of the household and the principal’s day‑to‑day needs
- 2+ years of experience as a Personal Assistant, Household Manager, Family Assistant, or similar role (private household experience strongly preferred)
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Comfortable managing vendors, projects, and multiple priorities at once
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to anticipate needs before being asked
- Positive, flexible, and willing to take on a broad range of tasks (no task too big or too small)
- Tech‑savvy and able to manage online ordering, scheduling apps, and digital communication
- Must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license for errands
- Part‑time: 20–30 hours per week
- Hours generally within 9am‑5pm, Monday‑Friday (flexible)
- Paid major holidays off
