LAUNCH is a venture capital and media firm, founded by Jason Calacanis (angel investor in Uber, Robinhood; co-host, "All In Podcast," host of "This Week in Startups"). Our programs include Founder University (U.S., Japan, Saudi Arabia), LAUNCH Accelerator (Austin, SF, NY), The Syndicate, Angel University, and other initiatives serving early-stage founders and investors worldwide.
The RoleWe're hiring a full-time, in-person Executive & Personal Assistant in Austin, TX to support our GP and his family. Based in Austin, TX, with travel to Dripping Springs and joining the principals on three to four trips per year.
This person keeps work and home running in sync. Plans change daily, flights get rebooked, and priorities shift. You'll be the one who already has the next option lined up, and the one after that.
What you'll doExecutive support
Own the GP's calendar end-to-end: scheduling, prioritizing, protecting focus time, and reshuffling when things move
Manage inbox triage, correspondence, and confidential communications
Track deadlines, commitments, and open items so nothing slips
Travel
Book and manage domestic and international travel: flights, private aviation, hotels, ground transport, and reservations
Rebook quickly when plans change, which is often. Keep a fallback flight, car, or route ready for high-stakes trips
Build clear itineraries and keep everyone affected updated in real time
Family and household
Coordinate family calendars, school and activity schedules, appointments, and events
Support the house manager with household vendors, contractors, and staff across the Austin and Dripping Springs properties
Handle errands, gifts, special occasions, and personal projects
Systems
Set up and maintain the tools that keep things organized: shared calendars, task managers, password managers, and document storage. We use Notion, Last Pass, Claude and Google Workspace. Know these, love these
Use agents and AI to manage processes
Document key contacts, preferences, routines, and procedures so coverage is seamless
Plan backups for the backup: alternate vendors, travel options, and coverage when something falls through
What you bringIdeally, five years supporting executives and their families, ideally in a combined EA/PA role, or five years in an operationally intensive role that requires attention to detail
Experience managing complex, frequently changing travel, including last-minute rebooking
Sharp organization and follow-through. You track details without being reminded
Sound judgment and absolute discretion with confidential business and family matters
Calm under pressure and flexible with your time when plans shift, including some evenings and weekends
Clear, concise written and verbal communication
Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to drive between Austin and Dripping Springs
You'll do well here if youGet energy from a fast pace and don't need the day to go as planned
Anticipate needs before anyone asks
Always have a Plan B, and usually a Plan C
Fix problems first and report back with options, not questions
Treat the family's time and privacy as carefully as the GP's
What You'll GetPTO, paid holidays, and professional development support
Opportunities for growth
A fast-paced, startup-like environment where you’ll have autonomy and responsibility
$90,000 USD with 10% bonus potential
This is a full-time role, with flexibility for evenings and weekends when plans change.
