Childwatch Team Member; Part-time

Pay Rate: $13.00 – 15.00 per hour

Think Lounge is Austin’s newest drop-in co-working space and first to offer both a ChildWatch and café on-site. The very first location is opening up this April and the search is on for caring, qualified and enthusiastic workers to join as Childwatch team members. The Childwatch team member provides or assists in providing care for children while parents use the co-working space. The age range of children accepted into the Childwatch is 18 months (walking toddlers) to 11 years. Depending on experience level, the Childwatch team member could be at reception, in a caregiver role or flex between both. Team members stationed at reception assist parents with registration and check-in/check-out procedures.

Team members supervising children directly will assume a caregiver role, as well as lead age-appropriate, enriching activities in the tech-free activity center. All Childwatch team members must work together to ensure children are safe, stimulated in positive ways or relaxing contently while their parent is utilizing the workspace amenities on premises.

• Care for children in the tech-free activity center for parents using the space.
• Must be comfortable with children aged 1-4 years, be willing to change diapers, assist potty training children in the bathroom and maintain composure with emotional children or those experiencing separation anxiety.
• Organize and participate in age-appropriate enriching activities, such as story time, simple painting, drawing, coloring, handicrafts, games, puzzles and songs.
• Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed, such as required forms and incident reports, as well as capture any updates to registration information upon each check-in/out.
• Based on proper security procedures, ensure that every child is checked-in per Childwatch guidelines and all parents provide proper identification when child is checked-in and out.
• Organize, store and sanitize toys and materials to ensure order and cleanliness in the Childwatch. Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
• Interact with the children in a positive and age-appropriate manner. Ensure compliance with Childwatch policies and guidelines at all times.

• High School diploma or 2 years prior work experience in a daycare/childcare environment with children aged 1-4 years required.
• Infant and Child First Aid/AED and CPR certification required.
• Excellent communication with children required.
• Excellent communication with adult parent(s) required.
• Have the ability to make young children feel secure.
• Must be able to lift 25lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must have enthusiasm for Think Lounge mission and values.
