Construction Materials Testing Technician, Level I

General Description: As a Technician, Level I you will assist in the performance of routine construction monitoring, field and/or laboratory tests. You will prepare and transport samples and reports, and perform non-technical functions and office tasks under close supervision of higher level technicians or supervisors.

Essential Tasks:

• Assist with sampling or testing of soils, concrete, asphalt and other materials as directed.
• Support field and/or laboratory personnel as needed to complete tasks.
• Transport equipment, specimens or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provide physical assistance in equipment set-up.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Assist other technicians or professional staff on routine tasks.
• Retain information shown and explained to you so that you may become a self‑sufficient employee and continue to grow with our company.
• Support our quality policies and procedures; maintain the quality of your work and the quality of TWE in the highest regard with each task you perform.
• Adhere to TWE safety policies and procedures and encourage the improvement of these policies by your participation in near‑miss and safety audit programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• No experience necessary.
• Ability to lift 10–60 lbs and work outside for extended periods.
• Capacity to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to obtain ACI, TXDOT, NICET or other relevant certifications (certifications paid by the company).
• High‑school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a drug test, background check and fit for duty test.
• Willingness to work weekends or nights as required by client schedule.
