About The Role

An established global infrastructure and technology organization is seeking an experienced Data Center Construction Manager to oversee the execution of complex, high-performance AI GPU data center builds. Based in Austin, Texas, this role will manage the daily on-site operations of both greenfield and brownfield projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across large-scale construction programs.

You will coordinate contractors, vendors, and trades across multiple geographies to deliver facilities that meet world-class standards in power, cooling, and reliability, while ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day field operations across multiple concurrent data center construction projects.
  • Oversee and enforce a zero‑incident safety culture across all subcontractors and trades.
  • Coordinate CSA and MEP teams, resolving technical and scheduling conflicts in real time.
  • Verify field QA/QC compliance, material submittals, RFIs, and change‑order processes.

Project Control & Delivery

  • Build and manage detailed construction schedules (Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Track and report daily progress, resource loading, and earned value performance.
  • Develop scopes of work, bid packages, and technical exhibits for critical trades.
  • Manage construction contracts from award to close‑out, ensuring budget, schedule, and scope compliance.
  • Collaborate with Design, Procurement, Commissioning, and Operations teams for seamless project handovers.

Performance & Risk Management

  • Monitor contractor performance, deliverables, and adherence to site protocols.
  • Identify potential risks and implement proactive mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and field best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent).
  • 7+ years of experience managing hyperscale, semiconductor, or mission‑critical construction projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CSA and MEP systems, construction sequencing, and procurement workflows.
  • Proven track record delivering fast‑track, large‑scale projects across multiple regions.
  • Familiarity with OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, and local permitting and safety codes.
  • Excellent subcontractor management, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read BIM/Revit models and interpret IFC drawings on the fly.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to active project sites.
