Purpose

The University Development Office seeks a creative and detail‑oriented Graphic Designer. Working under the senior art director and with the marketing team, you will design visual communications that advance the University’s ambitious fundraising goals and shape donor experiences through compelling design and storytelling.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver high‑quality, engaging materials—proposals, presentation decks, impact reports, infographics, stewardship pieces—to support presidential‑level fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Transformational Gifts team to create solutions that inspire donors.
  • Partner with design and marketing team members on campaign initiatives.
  • Create and maintain proposal and presentation templates.
  • Preflight and prepare print files, coordinating production with printers and conducting press checks.
  • Maintain and uphold the UT brand and visual style across all creative works.
  • Perform photo editing tasks as needed.
  • Complete other duties and functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field.
  • Strong concept development, design, technical, and editing skills; up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends.
  • Portfolio demonstrating expertise in layout design and visual storytelling.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word).
  • Solid understanding of print production processes, specifications, and file preparation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing for nonprofit organizations or donor engagement campaigns.
  • Familiarity with fundraising strategies and donor‑centric communication.
  • Skills in data visualization, infographics, video editing, or motion graphics are a plus.

Salary Range

$58,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions
  • Standard office conditions in a shared environment; routine keyboard use.
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM on‑site schedule.
  • Additional hours may be required during peak periods and special events.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is required.
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without sponsorship.
  • The position is based in Austin, Texas.
