Event Technician, Audio Visual - Part Time, AT&T Hotel and Conference Center
Position Overview:
A Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic small‑scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.
- Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.
- Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers, maintaining positive relationships with clients through effective communication.
- Meet with guests on site to ensure their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day.
- Understand and foster the hotel/client relationship.
- Display technical ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues, handling equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow company processes, complete systems entry and paperwork accurately, and use equipment sheets to determine scheduled setup and strike.
- Utilize floor up‑selling techniques to increase revenue, work with clients to finalize invoices, and complete order entries in Navigator as needed.
- High School Diploma required;
Associate’s degree preferred. - Internal applicants must complete all required training and certification requirements; external applicants must complete all required training and certifications within one year.
- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- 1 year of audio‑visual experience or equivalent technical experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required for those who may operate company vehicles.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Team members must be able to perform duties such as Sitting, Standing, Walking, Stooping, Crawling, Kneeling, Bending, Reaching, and Climbing for specified durations, and lift and carry various weight ranges as listed.
Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust, at intervals of moderate quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will handle high‑end audio‑visual equipment, electrical components, and heights via lifts and ladders, across multiple hotel locations with irregular hours, on‑call status, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines must be adhered to.
CompensationHourly Pay Range: $15.09 – $18.49. Compensation is based on qualifications, location, travel, experience, and may include overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
