POSITION OVERVIEW

As an Associate Landscape Designer at PHARIS DESIGN Land Development, you will work with internal departments such as surveying, contract administration, and environmental engineering. You will collaborate with specialists to implement new technologies and software, contributing to the Landscape Architecture team's foundation for a future that integrates data, research, and the latest innovations.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE
  • Manage task assignments from multiple projects on varied timelines.
  • Maintain company design styles, aesthetics, and quality to meet clients’ needs.
  • Understand time estimates for tasks and communicate issues with project managers.
  • Know appropriate construction, finishing, and planting materials in our geographic areas.
  • Assist Project Managers and staff to produce graphic and construction documents and maintain project files.
  • Communicate effectively with project team members.
  • Apply basic skills in graphic communication and knowledge in site design, planting design, and constructability.
  • Work with senior staff to refine techniques, tools, and processes in delivery and administration.
  • Regularly update PMs and Senior staff on issues and time delays for scheduling adjustments.
  • Participate in meetings, conversations, and initiatives with Senior Staff as needed.
  • Attend internal and external leadership and management workshops when available.
  • Begin developing proposals and SOQs with senior staff to learn the process of securing new projects.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture (or related fields)
  • 1‑5 years of experience, capable of independent work and managing assigned tasks from multiple PMs/APMs on multiple projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Consistently perform in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Explore solutions to design problems and present options to Project Managers and Principals.
  • Proficiency in CAD and Project Assembly.
  • Strong foundation in Graphic Communication.
  • Strong Site and Planting Design skills.
  • Strong foundation in Presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with commonly used software:
  • AutoCAD, GIS
  • Sketch Up, Lumion
  • Photoshop, In Design
  • Revit/Vectorworks/Rhino
  • Blue Beam, Plan Grid
