We are presently searching for a Designer for our Austin studio. The Designer, working under the general supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager, provides design support primarily in project administration, presentations, concept design through design development, and contract documents.

• Works with team to develop architectural concepts for interior and exterior repositioning and/or adaptive projects.
• Works with team to develop design ideas and create both presentation and construction drawings.
• Drafts technical drawings.
• For smaller projects may oversee all design and drawing.
• Provides review of engineering and landscape drawings to ensure compliance with design solutions.
• Works with Senior Designer to research and select fixtures and finishes for projects, ensuring integration into overall design.
• Develops preliminary concept plans for larger projects and may develop and finalize conceptual design for smaller projects.
• Oversees Intermediate Designer to review space plans and tackle more complicated issues.
• Provides detail for interior and architectural design projects.
• Develops and delivers overall design and furniture packages for both interior and exterior.
• Assists in developing packages for larger projects.
• Obtains cost estimates and produces final cost estimates.
• May assist with support for field surveys.
• Manages design budget for assigned projects; ensures adherence to set budget and immediately informs Senior Designer, PM, and/or client of any potential variances.
• May mentor the work of Junior and Intermediate Designers, overseeing tasks and providing feedback on work product.
• Conducts client interviews to determine space needs and requirements; good working knowledge of Affinity program tool.

• Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• 6+ years of experience in workplace design, focusing on building repositioning and adaptive re-use projects as well as corporate interior design.

• Extensive knowledge of design principles, workplace trends and aesthetics.
• Advanced presentation skills.
• Advanced knowledge of space planning.
• Extensive knowledge of furnishings and finishes.
• Expertise with concepts of furniture layout.
• Advanced sketching and rendering skills.
• Advanced architectural detailing skills.
• Extensive knowledge of construction documents and procedures.
• Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements.
• Working knowledge of path of travel requirements.
• Working knowledge of contract administration.
• Intermediate MS Office Suite skills.
• Advanced Revit skills.
• Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills.
