LSI (Land Strategies Inc.) is seeking a talented Interior Design Project Designer to join our rapidly growing, multidisciplinary Austin studio. This role is ideal for an emerging interior designer with strong technical abilities and 2–3 years of experience in a professional interior design or architectural setting. You will support and execute design work across a wide range of project types including commercial interiors, creative office and adaptive reuse, hospitality, restaurant, multifamily, and custom residential environments.

Position Overview

The Interior Design Project Designer is a central contributor to the interior design studio. The ideal candidate possesses the technical skills, design sensibility, and professional confidence to support interior design projects from concept through construction documentation. This role requires a strong understanding of the design process, proficiency in producing technical drawings and specifications, and the ability to contribute creatively across multiple asset classes.

Key Responsibilities Design & Production
  • Produce high-quality technical drawings, construction documents, and interior specifications.
  • Develop concept designs, finish palettes, FF&E selections, and presentation materials.
  • Assist in space planning, test fits, and schematic interior layouts.
  • Support material research, vendor coordination, and specification development.
  • Create project graphics, renderings, and client-facing presentation packages.
Project Execution & Coordination
  • Participate in project team meetings, design reviews, and consultant coordination.
  • Maintain drawing accuracy, file organization, and adherence to LSI documentation standards.
  • Support the development of cohesive interior design solutions aligned with project budgets.
  • Coordinate with architects, project managers, and engineering consultants.
  • Assist with construction administration tasks including submittals and RFIs, as needed.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, design-focused studio culture.
  • Assist in maintaining interiors resource libraries, standard details, and finishes databases.
  • Participate in internal design critiques, workshops, and cross-disciplinary coordination.
  • Work across multiple project types and scales with a flexible, proactive mindset.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • 2–3 years of professional interior design experience required.
  • Strong understanding of the interior design process in a commercial development context.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce technical documentation and interior specifications.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required; experience with Sketch Up & Enscape is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with building codes, accessibility standards, and commercial interior requirements.
  • Strong graphic sensibility and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
