Physician - Psychiatrist EDRP

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. The program approval, including award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years), is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services after review of the application.

Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.

To qualify, applicants must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Pending completion of training or licensure requirements, applicants may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are fulfilled. Current VA-employed physicians who met the initial appointment requirements are deemed to meet the basic requirements.

• US Citizenship (non-citizens only when recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible)
• Degree of MD or equivalent from an approved school
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US
• Completion of approved residency training in an accredited program
• English proficiency
• Preferred: ABPN Board Certified/Eligible in Psychiatry, Telehealth experience, participation in multidisciplinary mental health teams, evidence-based practice, Buprenorphine certification

Position may require long periods of light lifting, pulling, use of fingers, near vision, hearing, and emotional stability.

This is an open continuous announcement. The initial referral cut-off is August 15, 2025. The position offers a comprehensive total rewards package including salary, benefits, and incentives. Responsibilities include providing outpatient psychiatric care, diagnostic evaluations, medication management, crisis intervention, and participating in teaching and supervision of residents and students. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
