Overview
Central Health is looking for a skilled neurologist to join their expanding team and provide care to the underserved community in Travis County.
The role involves providing direct patient care and overseeing and interpreting EEGs/EMGs. Additionally, the neurologist will also complete e-consults and e-reviews in an outpatient clinic setting as required.
In this position, the neurologist will help design clinical workflows to improve access to care, support evidence-based practice and improve efficiency. This role will serve as both an attending to learners at various levels and may supervise advanced practice providers.
As a valued member of a multidisciplinary team, the neurologist will collaborate closely with the patient to jointly improve their quality of life. This is a full-time outpatient clinical role that involves direct clinical sessions, divided between ambulatory visits, e-consults/reviews, and the conduction of EEGs/EMGs. Ten percent of clinical time is allocated to administrative tasks.
Responsibilities- Performs neurology consultations, EEG/EMG procedures, e-consults, and e-reviews in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on the patient’s condition.
- Diagnoses and treats diseases, disorders, and injuries based on the patient’s medical history and physical assessment results.
- Prescribes medications and referrals for treatment and preventative care.
- Instructs patients and their families regarding procedures performed, home care, and follow-up visits.
- Directs and supervises advanced practice providers as needed.
- Helps design clinical workflows to improve access to care, support evidence‑based practice, and improve efficiency.
- Actively communicates with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner in person and on the phone.
- Collaborates with Central Health's operations and clinical leaders to ensure a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
- Demonstrates professional management skills, including planning, organizing, and scheduling work efficiently and productively.
- Actively interacts with peers, executives, employees, and consultants in a manner that represents Central Health positively.
- Offers strong decision‑making skills, especially in clinical matters.
