Male Student Achievement Program (MSAP) is a transformative, school-based leadership and peer support program for male-identifying high school students. The program empowers male students to make their communities stronger and builds a positive brotherhood of support. The pillars of MSAP are critical mentoring, leadership development, developing a positive view of male masculinity, academic coaching, and post‑secondary access.

The Opportunity

We are hiring a full‑time Male Leadership Coach for Northeast HS in Austin ISD
. In this role, you will lead a cohort of young men through weekly group sessions, provide individualized case management, and coordinate experiences that help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. A typical workday mirrors school hours. Occasional evening and weekend work is expected.

What You’ll Do
  • Facilitate weekly MSAP group sessions and leadership development curriculum
  • Build supportive relationships with students through one‑on‑one check‑ins, case management, and crisis response
  • Partner with school staff, families, and CIS teammates to remove barriers to student success
  • Connect students with enrichment opportunities including college visits, career exploration, and service‑learning projects
  • Support identity development and social‑emotional growth through culturally responsive mentoring
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate case notes and data in the CIS database
  • Coordinate end‑of‑year celebrations such as National Decision Day and other MSAP events
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead MSAP events such as field trips and retreats
  • Serve as a visible, trustworthy role model and presence on campus
What You’ll Bring
  • At least 2 years of experience working with boys and young men of color, ideally in a school, nonprofit, or community‑based setting
  • Strong group facilitation skills and the ability to lead discussions rooted in identity, leadership, and resilience
  • A collaborative and strengths‑based approach to working with students, families, and school teams
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in dynamic environments
  • A commitment to cultural humility in youth development
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, education, or a related field—or equivalent lived and professional experience
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills
  • Lived experience as a Black or Latinx male is strongly encouraged and highly valued but not required

    Starting at $3,550/month, commensurate with experience and internal equity

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Program Director for the Male Student Achievement Programs.

Worksite
