Headwaters School is in search of caring individuals to join our community as Middle and High School Substitute Teachers. Our ideal candidates will have teaching or childcare experience, flexible schedules, and a willingness to work with limited notice.

Our Middle School offers a supportive and constructive environment where students explore their passions and develop independence. Our High School is an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Diploma Programme and a unique college‑preparatory experience that combines rigorous academics with a commitment to nurture overall student wellbeing.

Substitute Teachers are responsible for providing and implementing the daily lesson plans according to the School's requirements. In addition, they are charged with managing the classroom environment, providing activities and materials, and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (required).
• International Baccalaureate or Montessori experience (preferred).
• Experience working with children/students (required).
• Professional appearance.

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for working with young people.
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.

Services are generally provided within a standard classroom environment. Some movement throughout the classroom is necessary to facilitate learning (standing, walking, stooping, bending, sitting, kneeling). Light lifting of materials (up to approximately 20–40 lbs.) is required.
