High School, Special Education Teacher
We are seeking a full-time American Sign Language Teacher for the school year. This teacher will be responsible for teaching our High School Credit ASL courses, to Middle School and potentially High School students.. Hyde Park Schools looks for educators who are passionate about uniquely engaging students, who connect strongly with them and their families, and who want to be part of a team that is continually seeking to strengthen and encourage each other.
Our teachers demonstrate a strong faith and use their professional skills as educators to incorporate a biblical worldview through their classroom instruction in order to encourage students to reach their God-given potential. Highly qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in education, ASL, or a related subject area. A Texas state issued teacher certification in ASL and prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.
Salary is based on a scale and is commensurate with your experience.

In light of the fact that approximately one‑third of our students have diagnosed learning differences, be open to accommodating (not modifying) instruction in order to ensure that all students have access to our curriculum while maintaining high expectations; this includes but is not limited to using adaptive technology, designing non‑traditional assessments, and closely examining assessments to ensure they are accurately measuring the learning goal

- ? Maintain a physical classroom environment that is visually engaging, well‑organized, encourages learning, and is free from distractions
- ? Guide students in their social‑emotional development with a focus on growing in self‑management, learning ownership, and upholding their role in a community
- ? Be an active member of the Hyde Park Panther family by regularly seeking out opportunities to participate in, support, and attend community‑building events, including participating in and speaking at chapels.
