Role Mission
IDEA Special Education teachers support the achievement of students with wide learning, cognitive, emotional, and physical disabilities. They develop individualized plans, provide in‑class support for reading, writing, and math, teach content mastery, and serve as a bridge between home and school.
What We OfferCompensation
Starting salary for 0 years of experience is $58,500. Eligible for stipends ranging from $500 to $4,000 and a Teacher Career Pathway that can earn up to $10,000 in additional compensation. Hourly compensation is also provided for after‑school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year institution.
Experience
Experience in a Special Education classroom setting (strongly preferred).
Licenses
Valid Texas state certification in Special Education (required).
- Knowledge of core academic subjects and curriculum & instruction.
- Ability to instruct and manage student behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Adapt and adjust to a multitude of situations.
- Facilitate Admission, Review and Dismissal meetings.
- Strong family engagement and communication.
- Record of results for academically at‑risk students.
- Adapt lessons to meet student needs.
- Develop IEPs for a caseload of students.
- Implement IEPs, assess performance and track progress.
- Update IEPs throughout the year to reflect progress and goals.
- Assess student skills and develop teaching plans.
- Teach small groups of academically at‑risk students in reading and/or math, including general education, 504, RTI, Special Education and ELL.
- Collect and analyze data to make effective decisions that maximize achievement.
- Discuss progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
- Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and after graduation.
- Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
- Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
- Use formal and informal assessments to track progress and adjust plans; update gradebook weekly.
- Communicate progress to students and families on a weekly basis.
- Use technology to improve achievement and manage work tasks.
- Implement a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
- Help shape a school‑wide culture that fosters a productive learning environment.
- Maintain a cooperative relationship with students and families based on trust and respect.
- Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs.
- Participate in weekly manager check‑ins, grade‑level meetings and school‑wide functions.
- Engage in summer and year‑long learning and development.
- Spend a minimum of 40+ hours at school per week.
- Additional responsibilities may include after‑school tutoring or Saturday school based on needs.
