Overview

The Vice President of Education (VPE) provides strategic and operational leadership for all academic functions across eight campus locations. This role ensures instructional excellence, regulatory compliance, accreditation alignment, faculty effectiveness, and positive student outcomes in a career training environment. The VPE serves as the senior academic leader and is responsible for curriculum quality, faculty management, program effectiveness, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with operations, compliance, finance, and student services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Academic Leadership & Strategy:
    Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all academic programs across eight campuses. Ensure programs align with workforce needs, licensure requirements, and employer expectations. Lead academic strategic planning, including program expansion, modification, and teach-out planning. Establish and monitor key academic performance indicators (retention, completion, licensure pass rates, placement).
  • Faculty Leadership & Development:
    Oversee faculty recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, development, and retention. Ensure consistent instructional quality and delivery across all locations. Implement faculty training aligned with adult learning principles and career education best practices. Collaborate with HR on performance management, corrective action, and workforce planning.
  • Curriculum & Instruction:
    Ensure curriculum is current, standardized where appropriate, and aligned with industry standards. Oversee curriculum development, revision, and approval processes. Ensure effective instructional delivery across modalities (on-ground, hybrid, online if applicable). Promote innovation in teaching, assessment, and student engagement.
  • Accreditation, Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
    Serve as the primary academic leader for accreditation activities (institutional and programmatic). Ensure compliance with accreditor standards, state regulations, licensure boards, and federal requirements. Lead academic portions of self-studies, site visits, audits, and regulatory reporting. Partner with compliance and financial aid to ensure Title IV and state compliance.
  • Campus & Operational

    Collaboration:

    Partner with Campus Presidents/Directors to support academic operations and student success. Provide guidance to campus academic leaders (Deans, Directors of Education, Program Chairs). Ensure consistent academic policies, grading standards, attendance, and academic integrity practices. Support enrollment and retention initiatives through academic readiness and student support strategies.
  • Student Outcomes & Continuous Improvement:
    Analyze academic and student outcome data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Lead corrective action plans for programs or campuses not meeting performance benchmarks. Champion a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement. Ensure student learning outcomes are measured, documented, and improved.
  • Budget & Resource Management:
    Participate in academic budgeting, staffing models, and resource allocation. Ensure instructional resources and faculty staffing align with enrollment and outcomes. Balance academic quality with financial sustainability.
Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree in Education, Career & Technical Education, or related field (Doctorate preferred).
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive academic leadership experience, preferably in career training or multi-campus education.
  • Demonstrated experience with accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of adult learners and workforce-focused education.
  • Proven ability to lead across multiple campuses.

Preferred

  • Doctorate (EdD or PhD).
  • Experience with Title IV institutions and state workforce programs.
  • Background in healthcare, skilled trades, IT, or other career education sectors.

Working Conditions
  • Travel required between campus locations (25–40%).
