Job Summary
As a Structural Engineer (Substation) Summer Intern at Black & Veatch, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse, impactful projects that support our clients’ goals while fostering your professional growth and advancing the success of Black & Veatch. The role will be based in Ann Arbor (MI), Bloomington (MN), or College Station (TX).
Key Responsibilities- Support development of design specifications and contract drawings
- Perform a variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs
- Prepare basic calculations
- Organize and file project materials and references
- Analytical skills
- Communications skills, both written and oral
- Initiative
- Self‑starter, highly motivated
- Mathematical skills
No experience required. Current enrollment in an ABET‑accredited university in Civil Engineering with a preference for Structural Engineering. Preference for at least one design course. All applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search) compliant with applicable laws.
Work Environment / Physical DemandsThis intern position is expected to be in the office on a full‑time basis.
SalaryHourly compensation range: $18.04–$33.90 per hour.
