Injection Molding Process Engineer – Automotive Plastics

We’re seeking a technical expert in injection molding to lead process development and optimization for automotive plastic components. In this role, you will use advanced simulation tools, statistical methods, and hands‑on expertise to improve quality, boost efficiency, and reduce costs. You’ll collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and customer teams to support new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize injection molding parameters using DOE to achieve >99% First Pass Yield
  • Perform Moldflow analysis to optimize part and mold design
  • Lead validation trials and work with mold suppliers on design improvements
  • Optimize machine settings (Engel, Arburg, etc.) to reach >85% OEE
  • Troubleshoot defects and implement SPC with Cpk >1.67
  • Drive cost reduction through material substitution and process improvements
  • Support APQP, PFMEA, PPAP, and DFM activities
  • Lead Six Sigma projects and deploy automation solutions
  • Provide training and collaborate globally in English and Mandarin (preferred)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in Plastics, Mechanical, Materials Science, or related field
  • 3+ years injection molding engineering experience in automotive manufacturing
  • Advanced Moldflow simulation and CAD skills
  • Strong knowledge of polymer science and DOE methodologies
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 and automotive quality systems
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and Moldflow certification preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin is a plus
  • Experience with OEM standards (GM, Ford, Toyota) and Industry 4.0 automation technologies
