Chemical Engineering Patent Counsel/ Agent
We are recruiting a Chemical Engineering Patent Counsel/Agent for our Austin, TX office to join the Intellectual Property team at AM100 (TPO search acting as intermediary).
Requirements- USPTO registration required.
- For Counsel roles: active bar membership in good standing or eligibility to waive into the Texas bar.
- Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Deep understanding of organic chemistry, polymers, and downstream oil and gas operations.
- Experience in patent portfolio management, drafting formal opinions on IP matters, and performing IP evaluations.
The Role
The position focuses on working with innovators in the chemical and materials science domains to protect groundbreaking technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Draft and prosecute patent applications in chemical engineering fields.
- Collaborate with inventors and research teams to develop robust IP strategies.
- Conduct patentability, freedom‑to‑operate, and due diligence assessments.
- Provide strategic counsel on patent portfolio management.
- Flexible Work Arrangements: work from the office as little as one day per week for Counsel and Patent Agents.
