Supplier Quality Surveillance Engineer – Rosendin

Join Rosendin as a Supplier Quality Surveillance Engineer and support Procurement in the implementation and execution of Supplier Quality Inspections and audits.

What You'll Do
  • Perform basic to moderately complex quality assurance and quality control shop inspections and audits to ensure critical materials and engineered equipment purchased meet or exceed customer and contract quality and workmanship expectations.
  • Assist in ensuring subcontracts or corporate agreements for goods and services meet Rosendin Procurement quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Maintain a working core understanding of Rosendin electrical equipment and materials related to fabrication, testing, and functionality.
  • Read, understand, and analyze basic foundational equipment specifications and drawings, and provide feedback regarding recommended supplier testing and inspections.
  • Report manufacturing problems to management and project personnel; assist in identifying root cause issues and suggest corrective resolutions.
  • Communicate inspection and audit results, both verbally and in writing, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of Procurement quality procedures, documents, and reporting structures.
  • Assist Procurement in supplier/subcontractor prequalification by providing input on the fabricator's quality program through basic to moderately complex supplier audits/assessments.
  • Support divisions and projects in overseeing fabricator and subcontractor quality as needed.
  • Review basic to moderately complex Supplier/Subcontractor Non‑Conformance Reports (NCR) and assist in developing corrective action plans. Coordinate with Quality Managers to support approval of final disposition and sign‑off NCRs.
  • Provide input to Procurement in rating the overall quality performance of suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Support effective supplier and cross‑functional relationships, partnership, and collaboration.
  • Assist in program, process, and policy improvement support and feedback.
  • Leverage written and verbal communication skills to document pre‑fabrication meetings, update pre‑fabrication checklists, and write basic to moderately complex inspection/audit reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Electrical Engineering degree; or equivalent experience with comparable direct experience.
  • 4 years of applicable work experience in professional supplier quality.
  • 2 years of applicable work experience with a 2‑year technical/associate's degree in electrical technology.
  • 0–1 year of applicable work experience with a 4‑year bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Broad working knowledge of all design and craft disciplines and engineered equipment/materials associated with renewable energy and electrical projects. Must be familiar with their special processes, inspection, and testing techniques.
  • Familiarity with electrical procurement and vendor surveillance procedures, as well as construction industry codes and standards related to the manufacture and testing of electrical components/systems (IEEE, IECC, NEC, NFPA, NESC, IBC, IFC, etc.).
  • Detail‑oriented with effective time‑management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player who can also work independently to meet intense deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Travel availability up to 85%, including occasional travel outside of the USA.
Working Conditions
  • General work environment includes sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
