HID Global seeks a Print Shop Manufacturing Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering team in Austin. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing production processes with an emphasis on equipment functionality, efficiency, and performance.

• Optimize setup of printing equipment through Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis.
• Troubleshoot equipment software and hardware issues affecting production orders.
• Coordinate production line set‑up and machine upgrades with responsible team members.
• Identify Continuous Product Innovation (CPI) opportunities and share with global teams.
• Create and update work instructions for new products or improve manufacturability; train manufacturing personnel on changes.
• Work closely with material suppliers to develop product design specification requirements for new and revised parts and assemblies.
• Identify opportunities for process and yield improvements to support work center production efficiencies and throughput.
• Develop equipment maintenance and calibration procedures.
• Collect, analyze, and report raw data (yield, cycle time, capability, trends).
• Interface with Project Management, Customer Service, Suppliers, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations to develop value‑added process workflows and routings that reduce inefficiencies and non‑conformances.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in a manufacturing environment.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action for field non‑conformance issues.
• Create and update Bills of Materials (BoMs) through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Support Value Engineering (VE) analysis projects to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP).

• Desired Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
• 2‑5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficient in Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with printing equipment usage and capabilities a plus.
• Experience with common quality processes and tools (TQM, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, SPC, FMEA, Kaizen).
