The Mechanical Graduate Engineer or Mechanical Engineer supports all Utilities and Energy Management (UEM) working groups in a mechanical engineering capacity specific to utility plants and distribution systems. The role applies UEM and industry standards and/or complex engineering analyses and procedures to ensure safety, compliance, and reliability of mechanical systems.
Responsibilities- Mechanical System Engineering:
Evaluate, troubleshoot, and review operation of utility systems including combustion gas turbines, steam turbine generators, chillers, boilers, cooling towers and distribution systems. Analyze controls, automation, and metered data to identify opportunities for improvements, recommend corrective actions, and optimize system performance. - Project Management:
Manage and coordinate special utility system projects by developing schedules, cost estimates, budgets, detailed final construction plans, specifications, special conditions, contracts, and agreements. Oversee project progress from preliminary feasibility and long‑range planning through design, construction, and commissioning. - Reporting:
Prepare documentation for investigations, feasibility studies, and other projects including initial, progress, and final reports. Determine project initial and long‑term costs and savings and prepare life‑cycle analyses. Report findings through written reports and presentations using advanced reporting tools such as Tableau and Power BI. - Technical Guidance and Compliance:
Advise on industry standards and code requirements. Maintain, update, and create design and construction specifications and standard details. Review engineering scopes of work, assist in engineering firm selection, and review deliverables from outsourced engineers. - Design and Construction Phase…
