Position Summary

The Back-end of Line (BEOL) Module Integration Engineer will be responsible for process integration from Metal1 through Fab-out for all technology nodes. This role, part of the Yield Enhancement organization, owns all module-related aspects of these steps. The primary focus includes resolving technology systematics and driving module process improvements to enhance yield, quality, and cost competitiveness.

Role and Responsibilities Specific Job Duties
  • Own module integration for a defined group of process steps.
  • Manage systematic defect issues and device/parametric yield concerns for assigned steps.
  • Lead projects to eliminate technology systematics and/or enhance detection capabilities.
  • Oversee critical dimension targeting and variation control within the module.
  • Review yield-, cost-, and throughput-related process changes through the Change Control Board.
  • Provide yield risk assessments and failure modeling for incidents presented at the Material Review Board.
Skills and Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field (required).
  • Minimum of 3 years of BEOL process or module integration experience in semiconductor manufacturing (required).
  • 10+ years of experience and/or FINFET experience is highly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of process flow, including relationships between process, yield, product performance, and reliability.
  • Prior experience with fab unit processes such as Lithography, Etch, Diffusion, Thin Film Deposition, Wet Cleans, and CMP is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Tools:
  • Expertise in project management, DOE creation, and analysis.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Spotfire).
  • Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Programming or scripting experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills, including the ability to deliver executive summaries.
  • Experience leading cross-functional task force teams (TFT) is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and work effectively in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence, elevate issues appropriately, and drive lasting change.
  • Demonstrated peer leadership and mentoring experience.
