Purpose

The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct research in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the area of mobile manipulation for handling material in nuclear and/or hazardous environments.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out research in applied robotics for use in extreme environments, especially nuclear, oil & gas, and military applications.
  • Co-author peer‑reviewed research.
  • Collaborate with group members and the Principal Investigator to define specific research scopes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field received within the past three (3) years, with research related to robotics or software for complex systems. Experience preparing proposals and peer‑reviewed technical papers. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and sponsors.

Salary Range

$70,000 + depending on qualifications.

Retirement Plan Eligibility

The retirement plan is the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS). Eligibility requires at least 20 hours weekly and 135 days in length. Optional Retirement Program (ORP) applies to 40‑hour positions with 135 days.
